CURRENT PROJECTS Besides drawings, random events in life, recipe tryouts, and whatnot, I'll be trying to focus on a few 'main' things in my LJ. And to keep my myself organized, even be inspired to continue USING my LJ!!! hehehehe!
- RIZ-ZOARD "walkthrough" (DS game) Start Page
- Saint Beast ~Angel Chronicles~ v.1 translation (manga)
- Papa wa Warumono?! translation (manga)
- Ippon Bocho Mantaro v.1 translation (manga)
- music requests *list coming soon*
- drawing, sketches, mostly Elves: Dark & Light
Really trying to keep in touch with my Japanese, so translating should be fun!!! Though I can't promise to update quickly, or have perfect translations, but still, whatever keeps me happy~ In addition, I need a schedule to work around, esp to have time for drawing! Really want redo my manga~ and then start on an animation.
More importantly, certain projects (translation ones, for example) will be under friends-only posts, at least for a while. ^________^ |

| What's on my iPod? #1 |
[Feb. 6th, 2009|12:24 pm] |
Time for some music-sharing!!! For me, whatever's in my iPod, they're my favorite songs! Can't listen to something if I don't like it, even if my playlist is on shuffle. At this point, I only have about 100 songs on my iPod, but there's still tons of files in my laptop, on CDs, etc. And I usually like many songs... my mind changes all the time!!! Anyways, on with it!
TAKE NOTE: Will usually list about 5 songs (or may depend on how I feel or how much time I have), along with the CD the song comes from, if available. You will be able to tell if a CD is available if there's a link by the CD's name. But the link will not work, as you will need to ask for the link in your comment. I will need to send the link to a working email addresss that you provide (or I can just check your LJ account, teehee!!!). The CDs I provide are usually those that I bought with my own money, so I don't want them to be shared EVERYWHERE~ In addition, the CDs are zipped into a .rar file, so you will need Winrar in your computer to unzip the file. Downloading links (CDs' included) will be available (hopefully...) until the next "What's on my iPod?". Thanks! And now, enjoy~ And don't pay too close of attention to my comments. Esp when it comes to certain seiyuu, I don't make sense...

Riz-zoard, an light-RPG game based on "The Wizard of Oz," where you play as Dorothy (followed closely behind by Toto), exploring the wonderful land of Oz. You are taken away by a tornado, land near the yellow brick road, and meet up with the Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, and the Tinman. Fight some monsters you encounter on the road, meet King Oz, fight some more monsters... meet some witches... yeaaaaa. In my opinion, you really don't need to understand the "deep" storyline (as you can pretty much work around it if you know the basis of the original story), just gaze at the beautiful graphics, listen to the enchanting soundtrack...walk/run, fight, walk/run, fight... In addition, the battle system seems to be made for RPG-beginners, as it automatically picks the "correct" command per turn. For example, you are low on HP, the next character in line for battle will use medicine on you. Very little thinking is involved, hehehehe; might even be on repetitive side. So why this game? Probably because I love anything related to the "Wizard of Oz"!!!! Which will keep me to continue translating it (and playing it~). Heck, the Japanese's not that difficult! I better be able to do this~ Anyways, enjoy this as much as you can!!!

| | chibi dancers dancing to DDR | ] | Started last Friday (since my Thursday class got canceled that week XD) But yesterday was the worse... 3 hours in one class, right before dinnertime. And then 3 classes at 9am to 12pm... no breaks. Today, only one class, Japanese, with my FAVORITE TEACHER (not like that teacher from last term, who treated us like kindergardeners when we're in 3rd yr japanese...)
Aaah, but last weekend was horrible. The fridge broke down, leaving me behind with spoiled milk and dinner/lunch. waaaaaaaaaaahhh, for those who don't know me well, I must have my milk everyday!!! I'm weird... but I grew up like that. And then my apartment-mates who share the master bedroom/bathroom.... well, their tub wasn't draining too well, so decided to use a plunger to get "things" out?! But since all the waterpipes are connected in this apartment complex.... things were spitting out of my tub!!! I-T - W-A-S - G-R-O-S-S -!-!-!-! I guess the good things of all this, the maintenace ppl were really nice and helpful. They immediately brought over a new fridge (do they have a storage room full of fridges ready or something?!)... cleaned up the bathrooms... (though, they had to make a hole in the closet in order to check on the pipes)... I felt kinda sorry for them, since they (meaning, 1 guy... and 1 lady who I think is on the cleaning crew) practically spent the entire Saturday at my apartment, minus their lunch break. But this place is old, in my opinion. Not sure how many students had lived here before me. And I've already been living here for 2 years, going on three. I guess it was time. I'm just glad it happened then, and not now, when everyone has class and is busy outside the apartment. Hopefully, nothing else drastic happens. I just need to focus on school, hopefully work (interview tomorrow!!!!), and the fraternity (as historian, yay!!!! and community service!) Which is why, I couldn't turn in my manga entry for the contest. I was kinda disappointed, but I can try another one. Always next time! > page 1
And an animated intro for my fraternity's slideshow... lots of drawings, but tons of fun to put together. Chibi dancers!!! I'm quite happy how it turned out. That, and the song is now stuck in my head forever (DDR music...). Actually, there was supposed to be a little more at the end, where all three dance together. May finish that part up later~ |

soooooo behind on my updates on japan.....どうしよう。。。?
-------Been internet-less since I`ve moved out of the apartment, out of Tsuru-shi (Dec. 10). I was supposed to take the train to Yokohama to stay at my parents` friend`s house, but what a surprise I had!!! My host family wanted to drive me all the way to Yokohama...like a family trip!!!! I was soooooo happy!!! I got to see them one more time, after the farewell party. (FYI : *sigh* that farewell party (Dec. 8) was not good. All 9 ryuugakusei had to make our final speech in front of our tutors, teachers, and host families, but most of the time, we were crying during our own speech....I felt like I couldn`t cry anymore.) At the farewell party, my host mom cried a bit. But when I met up with my friend in Yokohama, both my host dad and mom started to cry. And Kaede-kun didn`t want me to go..... I must say (again...?!), I`m glad I traveled abroad. I`ve never made such strong bonds with someone(s); the other ryuugakusei, the tutors, my host family.... It`s a special bond, I believe, and I plan to cherish them forever. Not only did my Japanese improved, but I felt, I improved myself.... I hope to go back to America with more confident in myself... to become an even better person to myself and others.
But I`m not in America just yet. For 5 days, went to Hokkaido with 3 other ryuugakusei. Saw falling snow, made a snowman together, rode a sled, ate crab, Hokkaido ramen, visited the chocolate factory where `Shiroi Koibito` is made, went to a glass factory (wish I could have made my own glass...), went to the Asahikawa zoo; just had a good time. One day, we went to this place called `MIRUKU no Mura` for ice cream. Only, once we get there, we found out you eat ice cream with a bit of alcohol mixture (usually sweet) together. It was a weird, but interesting experience. More memories, more laughter!!!! Dec. 17, came back from Hokkaido to Hande airport, where I had to go to Tokyo station and take the shinkansen to Kyoto. Wasn`t till 10pm till I made to Kyoto. Right now, staying at another friend`s house. Yesterday, went to Kyoto`s big river (forget the name), and saw the Winter Illumination. soooo pretty, and it was the last night!!! lucky~!!! Going to Kyushu next, on Thursday, to visit relatives. Wonder what`s going to happen next.

Midterm = d(-_^)good!! ☆ I did much better than I expected, even on the speaking/role-playing section. Guess studying really does pay off, at least when in Japan. After an intense amount of brain power used, as I said before, was going to climb Mt. Fuji. To keep the mind and soul balanced, need to work-out the brain and body, ne. W e d n e s d a y - 8/30-31 MT. FUJI climb!!!! The hardest thing I've done since coming to Japan. Took a bus from the terminal to 五合目 in the morning, then started our treacherous climb up. Fuji-san is very steep; half the time, I was crawling on my hands and knees. Arrived at 8合目の旅館 around 6pm, where we ate "dinner" and TRIED to sleep. I didn't get a wink of sleep...and my neck was killing me, thanks to the uncomfortable pillow. I think that's why I couldn't climb to the top (around 1am)...my head was spinning, I was cranky, and the O2 was getting thin. But I still got to see the sunrise...so b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l~~ I reallie wouldn't mind climbing again, but if I do, I'm not going to carry such a huge backpack, like I was "told" to do.... sheesh, I don't need to bring extra clothes...or THAT much water... *sigh*... I thought it was still fun though~ The challenge!!! Good thing it wasn't raining...would have been more difficult. the beginning still a long way up 自然 up up up 空 \(^0^)/ hello~ down there 7合目 bus terminal@5合目 bus terminal@5合目_2 日の出 日の出_2 Beware of horse poop. You can get a ride up to the 6-7(?)合目 by horse, if lazy and have the money. These are some big horses, muscles built for climbing and hard labor! Ahhh, but something terrible happened at the 5合目, a place above a souvenir store, where people can rest before/after their climb. On the guy's side, one of the guy's lost his shoes (you know, you take off your shoes before entering a place, especially if filled with tatami mats). Either someone actually wanted and thus stole his shoes, or it was by accident...but they were very expensive shoes... ??!!! He had to buy new ones, which were poorly made, and thus uncomfortable while climbing up Mt. Fuji... (*´ο`*) *sniff* but I lost my cool walking stick. I wanted to bring one back to the States, like my mom did. At least I haven't bought any of the stickers/stamps for each station you climb up to. However, once I got back to the apartment, that was the last thing on my mind. Immediately, I fell asleep...for a looong time ^_^

| | Kirii Daisuke - Itsumo Gawa ni | ] | I`m sad; my internet died last weekend. And it was our 3-day weekend, so I thought I would enjoy myself with some random internet before studying for my Japanese intensive final. Good thing, I went to Chiba with another exchange student. It has been a gloomy last week; was rainy for the entire week. And all the stress building up... *sigh*
Been using the school`s library for the computer. So inconvenient in my opinion; I like relaxing in my own room, so I can blast my music. Still a bit unsteady, since I have my final speech to present tomorrow morning, in front of the school, adn tutors, and MY HOST FAMILY!!!! Guess it`s not too bad, since I just finished my final today... I don`t feel as confident as I did when I took my midterm. The grammar was getting all mixed up in my head, and I had a hard time writing it all out. The speaking portion was just as worse. I knew the grammar points and what to say, but once it was my turn, I forgot everything, and stumbled at even the most easiest parts. ----but the intensive program has ended! noooo, I reallie enjoyed it. I thought I learned alot during these first two months. It was class, but it sure felt fun to me. I rather stay in Japan to study, then go back home.... such a sad feeling.
But once our speech is over, I can relax...a bit. But I'll be heading out to Kyoto for the next 4 days, with some of the tutors, and us exchange students.
On a random note...got my Ouran Koukou Host Club music CDs...and Saint Beast!!! Found one of the Saint Beast dramas at Book Off, for less than $10!!!!! waaaaaai!!!! Wish they would play on my laptop though...too much CD protection I guess. >.< *** And Mori-senpai is all over my new cellphone!!!! kiss, kiss, fall in love! |

Well, at least I felt proud of myself (not sure if I'll get a high grade, but I felt like I knew most of the material). Even the speaking portion of the exam, which was to do 2 random roleplay, wasn't bad. I had one where I had to ask for permission to miss class because I had a fever; and another where I lost my bag on the train, and I'm calling Ootsuki's lost-and-found department...the second one was much harder. But it's over, and I have a 5-day weekend. And I'm climbing Mt. Fuji tomorrow!!!!

I'm doing lots, staying on campus from 10am to 9pm (depending on some days, may be out much later), surviving on a small breakfast. At least, I eat a ton for dinner!!! I'm a dinosaur!!!! *grrrr* Even though I'm having lots of fun with the fraternity, in a way, I might be using it as another excuse to stay away from my apartment. I'm quite bummed out on how my apartment-mates turned out. Trying to leave the lease early, leaving two month's worth of rent on me and my roommate. I know they won't leave here during the summer, but I, too, would like to go home. From the very beginning of signing the lease, I knew I would have to plan for the summer 2006, even if I wasn't living in it. At least, if that happens, I can sue them!!!! And then, posting up an ad for 2 roommates, since they weren't planning to live with me next year. I was getting all these weird e-mails, wanting to know more about my apartment!!! @_@ You know, this isn't the sort of thing to be kept as a secret. Grrrr...I should have known something fishy was going on; always having their door closed, whispering and giggling late at night. And yet, they blamed me, for not being home all the time!!!! Because I was joining "THAT" fraternity.... because I trying to get a life. Hey, I'm getting that "social" life~ I've found the right people to hang-out with. Took me a while and a drama session, but I think I've made it. I'm making Irvine more enjoyable for myself. I'm tired of the complaints, and depressions, and betrayal. Done with, be gone! I have 5 more weeks of torture with them, and then they can go wherever they want. Five more weeks of cleaning up their mess, of the secrets, the lies, the burden. Man, this is harder than finals....
My mom has been giving me so much support, as always, even though I'm miles away from home. Everything she said, relieves me for some bit. She was even going to work extra hours so I could pay that 2-month's worth of rent if they had decided to skip out. And, already found 3 new roommates for next school year. It's another friend from my Japanese class...someone I could REALLY trust. I should just stick to people who are in my Japanese class...I mean, my current roommate is also a classmate. This weekend, was in San Diego, at Camp Mataguay, clearing up miles of trails, cutting down old trees, and eating horrible camp-food...sleeping on hard bunk-beds with thin mattresses, pestered by the million flying insects...yet, bonding with college people from CAL state LA and San Diego's Alpha Phi Omega chapters, plus, my own pledge buddies and actives!!!! Though it was only 5 hours of service, I was too exhausted to even participate in the night-fellowship-bonding events. Everyone just wanted to sleep (until we saw the beds =P). And no shower!!!!!
